Defen.so Alerts App Privacy Policy
Last updated August 22, 2026
This policy covers the Defen.so Alerts mobile app for iOS and Android, published by Next Lab LLC. The app is a companion to the Defenso platform; the main privacy policy covers the platform itself.
1. No account data on your phone
The app never asks for an email or password. You connect it with a short one-time code generated in your Defenso dashboard. The phone then holds a random device key of its own. That key can be revoked at any time, from the app (Settings, Disconnect this phone) or from the dashboard (Alert channels, Mobile app, Revoke). Revoking it immediately stops all alerts to that phone.
2. What the app stores
- On the device: the device key, your alert level preferences, and a local log of the last alerts received. Nothing else.
- On our servers: a hash of the device key, the device platform and model label (for the list you see in the dashboard), your per-site alert levels, a push delivery token, and a last-seen timestamp.
3. What the app does not do
- No advertising, no third-party analytics, no tracking SDKs.
- No access to contacts, photos, files, microphone, or location. The camera is used only while you scan a connect QR code, and only after the operating system asks you.
- No sale or sharing of personal data with third parties.
4. Push notifications
Alerts are delivered through Apple Push Notification service on iOS and Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android. The delivery token these services issue is stored on our servers solely to route your alerts. Alert content is generated by your own Defenso account activity (uptime incidents, blocked attacks, scan findings). Noisy alarm sounds only play for alerts you explicitly set to the Noisy level.
5. Data retention and deletion
Disconnecting a phone deletes its push token immediately; the revoked device row is kept briefly for audit and then purged. Deleting your Defenso account removes all associated device records. The local alert log lives only on your phone and is removed when you uninstall the app.
